Jackie Proko
Jackie became involved in freestyle with her Australian Shepherds in 1995 with the encouragement of Donna Duford, her teacher, mentor, and friend.
With her first dancing partner, Shot (left), Jackie performed Top Hat and Tails team and individual routines at demos. In 1999, Shot and Jackie, dancing to Jump, Jive, and Wail, won first place in their division in the WCFO fun meet held at the Bay Colony Cluster in Boston.
Jackie and Shot also were part of a team routine dancing to “I Get Around” by the Beach Boys that received first place in the Team Division of that fun meet.
Jackie has a new dancing partner these days. In 2010,
Emmett (right) became the youngest member of the Top Hat and Tails Dance Troupe. Emmett is just beginning his freestyle career. At 4 months old, he showed off some of his freestyle moves to a wonderful audience at a nursing facility. Emmett began participating in demos by age 6 months.
He also enjoys swimming, boogie boarding, boating, agility, and playing with other dogs. It’s all about having fun for Emmett!
